Distance: 1 hour Depth: 8 mt to 30 mt Description: The dive is located in the middle of the north part of Ari atoll. Suitable for all level of experience. In the 1995 this beautiful dive site was protected as a Marine Reserve by the Maldivian Government. Although grey reef sharks are also quite common at Maaya Thila, the smaller white tips and the baby grey sharks are circling the reef. If the current will be not strong we can do a full exploration and you can enjoy the incredible diversity of marine life. The top starts at 6 – 8mt and the reef edge drops from 12mt to depths of 30mt and more. Several midnight coral cover the northwest and south side. There are many caves and overhangs full of glassfish all around the thila. Moorish idol, tall fin batfish, parrotfish, butterfly fish, clown triggerfish lives here. A big rock on the south side as a meter wide swim-through at 20mt. The dive is a fish watchers delight and the beautiful black coral and gorgonians on the reef faces are a great attraction.
